If you live in Chicago, you know how fast life moves—between work, family, and trying to enjoy the city, keeping your home clean can feel impossible. But whether you’re tackling a DIY lemonade stand project or just trying to stay on top of daily messes, a clean space makes everything better. Here’s how to keep things fresh, even when life gets busy.
Start With a Simple Cleaning Routine
One of the best ways to stay on top of mess is to build small habits into your day. Spend just 10 minutes each morning wiping down counters, putting things away, and sweeping high-traffic areas. If you fall behind, don’t stress—you can always call for professional home cleaning to reset your space quickly.
Make Cleaning Fun (Like a DIY Lemonade Stand Project)

Grabbing a few supplies, setting a timer, and playing your favorite playlist can turn cleaning your apartment into something you actually enjoy. Need a hand? There’s always someone to clean my apartment ready to help in Chicago.

My jaw was on the floor Dollar Tree had the viral pinstriped awnings in stock. I had to grab a couple. I also had to grab four Dollar Tree wooden crates. I zip tied them together for stability and set out to make a giant lemonade stand of dreams all from Dollar Tree. I grabbed broom holders and broom sticks. Everything in this video you can do from the Dollar Tree. First up the stand, I covered the broom sticks in a white duct tape for aesthetics and then I added two broom holders to each side of the crates. I clipped in the broom sticks. I glued two awnings together. This was really starting to give a Nancy Myers aesthetic. I clipped the awning to the broom handles and for extra stability I took these wooden dowel rods, also from Dollar Tree, duct taping them under the awning for support. I covered up any places I didn’t want to see and then I went back to the Dollar Tree to do some shopping. Okay, maybe I went a little overboard on lemon products, but all of this we’re donating to charity. My favorite products are Dollar Tree lemon circus peanuts as well as these lemon heads and I couldn’t leave behind lemon moon pies. I even had to grab these Dollar Tree place mats to make a bandana for our dog Copper. My son was so excited about this stand. This would be great for any party or just for play. Be sure to like and save this video for future inspiration and we’ll see you in the next one.
