Living in a busy city like Chicago means your time is precious. Between work, social plans, and just getting through the week, keeping your space clean and stylish can feel like a dream. But you don’t need a big budget or endless hours to make your home look polished. With a few clever tricks from the dollar store, you can elevate your decor and feel great about your space. And if keeping things organized feels overwhelming, you can always tap into professional home cleaning to handle the deep work while you focus on the fun stuff.

Create Stunning Centerpieces for Under $15

You don’t need to spend a fortune to make your dining table look like a wedding venue. Start with a simple long charger plate (find one for around $1.50) and grab some floral foam from your local dollar store. Hot glue the foam directly to the bottom of the charger. Then pick up any artificial florals you like—cut the stems short and press them into the foam. This gives you a full, lush arrangement that looks expensive but costs almost nothing.

To add height and elegance, grab a cheap hurricane vase and some long candlesticks. Cut the candlesticks down to size, and place a smaller candle holder in the center for extra dimension. The final result is a centerpiece that looks like it belongs at a high-end event. If you’re planning a gathering and want your home to shine, consider apartment cleaning before guests arrive so your decor gets all the attention.

Elevate Dollar Store Cloches with Spray Paint

Another trick that screams luxury on a dime is upgrading basic cloches. Dollar store cloches are inexpensive, but with a little spray paint on the base, they instantly look like designer pieces. Just paint the base a matte black, gold, or any color that matches your room, and place a preserved rose or dried flower inside. The transformation is stunning.

These simple DIY projects prove that you don’t have to spend a lot to make your home feel fresh and put-together. But let’s be honest—after a long week of work and life, sometimes the last thing you want to do is clean. That’s when you can rely on fast cleaning services to handle the mess so you can enjoy your new decor without the hassle.

Keep Your Home Clean and Stylish

A beautiful space feels even better when it’s clean. Daily life in Chicago can bring in dust, dirt, and clutter fast. But you don’t have to tackle it all alone. Whether you need deep cleaning help before a big event or just want to maintain a tidy home week after week, having a trusted partner makes all the difference.

Simple Ways to Maintain Your Home’s Look

  • Dust surfaces regularly so your decor always shines.
  • Keep clutter off tables and counters to make your centerpieces stand out.
  • Vacuum and mop floors weekly to keep the whole place feeling fresh.
  • If you’re short on time, schedule a cleaning and let the pros handle it.

Dollar Tree luxury that’ll have your draw on the floor. >> Dollar Tree got brand new floral foam. It’s in this longer length and this is amazing for table centerpieces. Grab a long charger for $150 and hot glue the foam to the bottom. Then take any Dollar Tree florals of your choice, cut them down and stick inside the foam. Then you want to add some candles to the top. I grabbed this Dollar Tree hurricane vase. I cut down some of their long candlesticks and I put a smaller candlestick holder in the center just for some added elegance. Doesn’t this look like something you would see at a wedding? And I put this together for less than $15. Also, don’t forget the cloches in Dollar Tree. I wanted to mimic these high-end cloch ideas, but I knew I had to elevate the look with some spray paint on the base. Just making this simple change and reding the rose back inside. This looks so high-end and was done at a dime.
