Living in Chicago means juggling a busy schedule, and keeping your home clean can easily fall to the bottom of the list. Between work, family, and trying to enjoy the city, who has time for deep cleaning? We get it. That’s why we’re sharing some clever, easy tips to help you maintain a beautiful space—and when you need a real reset, we’re here to help.
Creating a home that feels both clean and luxurious doesn’t have to break the bank or your schedule. Sometimes, it’s the small touches and smart habits that make all the difference. Whether you’re refreshing a single room or tackling the whole place, these ideas can help elevate your environment effortlessly.
Smart Finds for a Fresh Look
You’d be surprised how a few strategic items can transform the feel of your home. The key is choosing pieces that are not only beautiful but also easy to clean around.
Elevate Your Decor Easily
Look for simple, elegant items like ceramic planters or touch-control lamps. These pieces add instant style without creating hard-to-reach dust zones. A less cluttered space with intentional decor is inherently easier to keep tidy and makes any apartment cleaning session faster and more effective.
Simple DIY Upgrades
Personalizing basic items is a fun way to add character. For example, using a decorative napkin to cover a plain candle or adding a metallic finish to wooden figures are projects that spark joy without creating a big mess. The best home updates are the ones that don’t leave you needing a full deep cleaning help afterward!
Cleaning Habits That Support Your Lifestyle
Incorporating a few simple routines can prevent messes from piling up, saving you time and stress in the long run.
- Declutter Surfaces First: Before you even grab a spray bottle, clear off tables, counters, and shelves. Dusting and wiping become infinitely quicker.
- Embrace Quick Touch-Ups: Spend 5 minutes each day wiping down the bathroom sink or kitchen counters. These micro-cleanings prevent grime buildup and make weekly chores less daunting.
- Clean High to Low: Always start dusting from the top (shelves, fan blades) and work your way down to the floors. This way, you capture all the falling dust in your final vacuum or mop pass.
Sticking to these habits means you’re always just a short effort away from a presentable home. But when life gets overwhelming, knowing you can rely on fast cleaning services provides real peace of mind.
When to Call in the Pros
Even with the best habits, some tasks require a professional touch. Seasonal deep cleans, post-renovation scrubs, or simply reclaiming your weekends are all perfect reasons to seek professional home cleaning.

I’m a Dollar Tree pro. It’s part two of luxury finds at Dollar Tree right now. Blue and white is trending everywhere, which is the theme of today’s video. And I want to point your attention to these planters. They are absolutely stunning. Pottery Barn has similar versions for over $100. This is immediately high-end. Another immediate find are these touch control lamps. I love how blue and white pairs with gold. These are battery operated, touch to turn on, and put on any tablescape for instant ambiance. This is immediate designer, I promise. Next time you’re at store, grab these wooden peg dolls. But first, I’ve got to share with you this trick. Grab some pretty blue and white napkins and peel the back ply. Place your napkin on a Dollar Tree battery operated candle and then some wax paper over top. And you can iron on the napkin right to the candle. This is the easiest foolproof trick. With those wooden pegs, I added some rub and buff to them. And then I super glued them to the bottom of this wood round, also from Dollar Tree. Staining it is optional. With some extra rub and buff, I put it on this Dollar Tree egg for an instant adorable pedestal for Easter. I only do Dollar Tree luxury. Leave a comment with your favorite.
