Why Cordless Vacuums Are Game-Changers for Chicago Apartments

Living in Chicago means dealing with limited storage space and busy schedules. Cordless vacuums offer the perfect solution for quick cleanups between your regular apartment cleaning sessions. They’re lightweight, easy to store, and perfect for maintaining that fresh-cleaned feeling.

Our Testing Methodology

We put six popular cordless vacuums through real-world challenges that Chicago homeowners face daily:

  • Pet hair pickup (for all our furry friends)
  • Edge-to-edge cleaning performance
  • Popcorn and larger debris removal
  • Under-furniture reach
  • Tangle-free brush roll effectiveness

What We Looked For in Each Vacuum

As a busy Chicago cleaning service near me, we know what matters: strong suction, easy maneuverability, and features that actually save time. We tested each vacuum’s ability to handle the messes that accumulate between professional cleanings.

The Winners & Losers: 2025 Cordless Vacuum Rankings

🥇 First Place: Tinco Laser Vacuum

This vacuum surprised us with its premium features at a reasonable price point. The laser beam actually reveals hidden dust, making it perfect for thorough cleanings. With excellent suction, a bendable arm for hard-to-reach spots, and reliable battery life, it’s our top pick for maintaining clean floors between your scheduled deep cleaning help sessions.

🥈 Second Place: Bissell Fur Guard

Pet owners, this one’s for you! The Bissell Fur Guard handled hair beautifully with minimal tangling. While slightly clunky, its powerful suction and specialized pet attachments make it ideal for Chicago apartments with furry roommates. Perfect for quick cleanups before your professional home cleaning appointment.

🥉 Third Place: Shark Flex

The Shark impressed us with its bendable arm that reaches under furniture – a must-have for Chicago’s compact living spaces. While it lacked some premium attachments, the solid suction and good battery life make it a reliable choice for everyday maintenance.

Budget-Friendly Options That Actually Work

Not ready to invest in a premium vacuum? We found some surprisingly effective budget options perfect for small spaces or as backup cleaners:

  • Under $150 Option: Great for dorm rooms, small apartments, or kitchen-only cleanups
  • Dustbuster Combo: Perfect for quick spills and spot cleaning between more thorough sessions
  • Lightweight Pick: Ideal for seniors or anyone who struggles with heavy equipment

When to DIY vs. When to Call the Pros

While these vacuums are great for maintenance, sometimes you need more thorough cleaning services in Chicago. Here’s our rule of thumb:

  • DIY with your cordless vacuum: Daily spills, pet hair, quick touch-ups
  • Call for fast cleaning services: Move-in/move-out cleaning, seasonal deep cleans, or when life gets too busy

Making Cleaning Work for Your Chicago Lifestyle

Whether you invest in a quality cordless vacuum or rely on someone to clean my apartment, the goal is the same: a clean home that supports your busy life. The right tools and occasional professional help can transform your cleaning routine from chore to effortless maintenance.

Remember, even the best vacuum can’t replace the thorough clean you get from a trusted Chicago cleaning company. Think of your cordless vacuum as the perfect partner to professional service, not a replacement.

All right, I feel like it’s time to do some new cordless vacuum reviews. We haven’t done them for like a year and a half. It’s the end of 2025. There’s going to be new ones coming out, but I want to test these. We got some lower price point ones and a little bit higher price point ones. So, let’s see how they compare. Heat. Heat. See how stuff’s sticking to my wheels? That does not um not a smooth ride. It’s supposed to be tangle-free. There’s lots of hair, but like sometimes tangle-free means it’s just easier to remove. See, that’s the thing. You have to do long hair in them because that’s how we know if it tangles up or not. Right now, we’re going to do some edgetoedge testing because I like to know how tight it gets up to the baseboard. Oh, it gets really tight when I go like that, but I just feel like I’m not going to like it because it’s such a big thing, but it works. Look at the hair. So, there’s no hair wrapped around it compared to the other one. But this one still does have a tangle-free brush roll. It just like look at you can totally look at the hair in here. Look at it. Got everything. That’s crazy work, man. Look how loud it is. Sharp loud. So, because this piece of plastic doesn’t run really tight to the floor, it that’s why I was able to get the popcorn pieces up better, you guys, because the other those bissles were just like pushing the popcorn pieces. Um, oops. Well, there was one in there, but this is Can you see the hair? Okay, so here we go. Well, it it crushed them, didn’t it? Suck them. Here’s the bat. And here’s the hair. This is a really cool feature. So you can get underneath in your couch and everything with it if you want to get under your feet. Even like that would get underneath a dresser if you ask me. That’s cool. Woo! This definitely makes me feel like a housewife from like the 1950s. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> It does look like >> Yeah, that’s like the I got a lot of popcorn. Sometimes you just have to pick up some pieces cuz they’re too big. Do you know what I mean? Like it’s like some of these are big, but we like to see how big the pieces it will pick up. So, we’ve got hair here. Just So, the hair cutting tool little piece here, it does work. It’s just not like perfect. It’s not getting all of the hair out, but it does. We did like run it, step on it. You have to run it and then step on the hair cutting tool so that the brush roller works. There must be a blade that comes out and then slices the hair so that it sucks up into the vacuum. And then look at Wait, wait, wait. This is so cool about this vacuum. It’s a dustbuster. You know what? I can bang up like that. This is my cheaper little guy, which I’m excited about. Okay, don’t let me down. See, why does this look like it doesn’t have wheels? I think they’re super little tiny wheels. Yeah, they’re scratching the up down, you know. Popcorn. That feels pretty good, you guys. >> That was better than the trim more in my opinion. >> Yeah. Looks like my hair’s wrapped. Yeah, but the popcorn’s >> not that bad. That’s more >> No, I think my hair’s wrapped up here. Like not around the bottom. I like doggy hair. >> Like if you’re This is a really cheap vacuum for if you’re using it like it’s a broom. Do you know what I mean? Like if you don’t want it for anything else besides just cordless cleanup. >> Oh, I screwed that up. >> That’s okay. Just go against it again. Okay, wait here. I’m just going to show how the laser beam works. Like, see how I can it picks up all the dust back like the So, if I don’t have the laser beam there, does the floor look dirty? Not really. Now, we have no hair tangle either on this one. So, that’s pretty good. That’s some Christmas tree stuff. Okay, so we have the arm that breaks so that we can vacuum under the stairs or under the couch. That is cool. Like even for you know how we have when we’re cleaning and people have their dressers mounted and you can’t get underneath the dresser. That’s like that’s really helpful. Oh wow. That’s a 10 out of 10. Okay, this Bissell, the Clean View, I’m going to pass on it. I don’t think it’s worth the price point. This is the Bissell Fur Guard, and I’m giving it second place. It’s a really good vacuum. I think it’s a little bit clunky, you guys, but other than that, it did it did a really good job. It has the power upholstery attachment. It picked up everything. I think it’s going to be really good for petouses. Like, it has a lot of power, which is what you want in a cordless vacuum. Okay, so the Tinco is going to be my number one pick, you guys. It has This vacuum has a lot of really good features, but it’s also like it’s just the newest Tinco on the market. It’s a good vacuum, and usually I usually pick well, we didn’t have a Dyson in this round, but I think that the Tinco is coming for a Dyson. This has the laser beam on it. We have the power upholstery attachment. We have the bendable arm so we can get underneath of the couch, and it just had really, really good suction. It has good battery life. It’s my number one pick. So, the Shark got third place for me. It has the bendable arm. It didn’t have any power upholstery attachments. It had pretty good suction, you guys, and good battery life, but I just would rather take the Tinco over it. So, if you’re like, it’s and they’re not that far of a price point apart. So, that’s I would just go for my number one choice over this one. Okay, so for the Kenmore, this vacuum is going to be a pass for me. Like, it’s good. I think it’s really lightweight, but and I like the dustbuster effect, but I still if I was going to choose, I would not. This isn’t my one. This isn’t for me. It’s too small. Georgia just realized that Georgia just pointed out that this vacuum looks like the 2010 Olympic torch. I don’t know why she know has this in her brain. >> They came to my school. >> They came to your school? Yeah. >> Really? >> Got them old. >> I actually really like this vacuum if you’re on a budget, you guys. It’s cheap. It’s like under 150 bucks. It’ll probably go on sale even cheaper than that. And it picked up quite a bit. Like it it’s a little workhorse. It did well for the price point. If I was going to use it just for picking up in my kitchen like at like as in the capacity of a broom and I wasn’t working using it to like vacuum my whole entire house, I would I’m totally fine with it. Or if you had like a kid in a dorm room who needed to vacuum, a small one that didn’t have a lot of space or you live in a small spot, I think that this is a good little vacuum for the price point. It’s so good little Sarah’s taking it home to her apartment and she wants to keep it. Thank you for tuning in. If you have any questions, you can leave it in the comments, you guys. Or if you have a vacuum that you want me to test, let me know. I know that there’s so many of them out there and it’s like we can’t test them all up against each other, but we can slowly chip away at the whole entire market and figure out which one is the best because that’s really I have not found the perfect vacuum yet. I really want to my top two choices for cordless vacuums at this point in time. Today it is November 6th, 2025 is this new Tinco that I just put in first place and my Dyson V15 detect with the laser beam. And I still feel like my Dyson is going to beat out that 10 coat. The end. >> >> Hey, hey, hey. >>
